In Service To One, In Service To All
Promote Pro-life Policies and Programs
Knights of Columbus are, as all Catholics should be, "A People of Life and For Life."

Committed to re-establishing a reverence for the miracle of the human individual, we are committed to defending the life of every human being, from the moment of conception to the natural death.

One project of the Knights of Columbus which is bearing positive fruits is our Ultrasound Initiative. Local councils, state councils, and the Supreme Council work together all over the world to assist pregnancy help centers to purchase ultrasound machines so mothers tempted to abort their unborn babies can have a chance to get a clear look at what they're about to do and, hopefully, to choose the better course.

All Knights of Columbus are encouraged to volunteer in efforts to assist families struggling to accept an unwelcome pregnancy, to educate themselves fully regarding all aspects of pro-life issues and to share that knowledge with others, to advocate pro-life laws and policies, to personally donate time and money to fostering a Culture of Life, and, above all, to pray for an end to the Culture of Death and an embrace of the values and morality which lead to a civilization founded on true and abiding love.

The Knights of Columbus established the Knights of Columbus Culture of Life Fund in 2008:

In order to further our commitment to building a culture of life, it has become desirable to establish a permanent fund with monies contributed from members, councils and assemblies that will support a broad range of initiatives that advance the culture of life.

Money contributed to this fund supports Knights of Columbus efforts to purchase ultrasound machines and supports joint projects with and activities of Sisters of Life, Birthright International, the National Life Center, the National Catholic Bioethics Center, the Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Catholic Organization for Life and Family in Canada, and various state referenda on pro-family and pro-marriage issues.

On March 25, 2015, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, the Feast of Christ's Conception, all Knights of Columbus organizations are encouraged to participate in some way in the International Day of the Unborn Child, through prayer and action. K of C Council 12623 encourages members to mark the day in some appropriate way--a more formal activity undertaken by the Council may soon be announced. Watch our calendar for further developments.

Babies are not the only ones threatened by the Culture of Death pervasive in much of Western civilization. So-called "death with dignity" and euthanasia movements are targeting seniors and the disabled for what is, essentially, proposed as a "kind" version of murder.
Here is a partial list of trustworthy Catholic sources regarding Culture of Life issues:

Human Life International

American Life League

Population Research Institute

We'll be handing out empty bottles on PALM SUNDAY for our annual baby bottle fundraiser for our local pregnancy resource
center.
Please, be generous filling your bottle. The filled bottles will be taken back up on MOTHER's DAY.
