The chief disease of our time seems to be "busy-ness." Fathers face career demands; most mothers feel pressured by society to fulfill dual roles as homemakers and employees, often feeling divided between the two; and children and teens are given more and more homework and tasks in schools and extra-curricular activities, not to mention enduring intense peer pressure and, sometimes, bullying.
Keeping obedient to Christ and trying to live out our Baptismal Promises has always been a challenge for families living in the world, but in this era when television, computers, and work and athletics compete more and more for our attention, it's paramount Catholic fathers do more than ever before to re-direct and lead their families away from the enticements of "the world" and toward the Kingdom of God.
The Knights of Columbus and K of C 12623 hope to be a resource of strength and encouragement for all Catholic families striving to "fight the good fight."
